KELLER MOTORS HISTORY

Located on Highway 51 just south of I-55 in Perryville, MO, Keller Motors is one of the most successful automotive dealerships in the Southeast Missouri region. The Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep dealership still maintains the tradition of a family business with many longtime, valued customers and employees from the past four decades.

In June 1971, Keller Auto Sales began when Eugene Keller parked the first car for sale in the front yard of the family home next to the current dealership facility in Perryville. He then started an automotive repair business in a garage built behind that home. The sales and repair business continued at that location until 1975, when a new building was constructed on adjacent property.

Keller Motors, Inc. was formed in the fall of 1991 when Eugene Keller had the opportunity to purchase the Chevrolet, Geo, Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge franchises in the Perryville market. Keller Motors bought and renovated the large building on adjoining land to include a showroom, sales and administrative offices, and a service and parts department area. The former Keller Auto Sales building was converted into the dealership’s body repair shop. New and used cars, trucks, and vans were parked in the new lot, which had been the open land space in front and between both buildings.

Growth continued for the dealership as Keller Motors added the Jeep and Eagle franchises in 1996. Chrysler Corporation presented Keller Motors with a Five Star Dealer certification in 1997. To achieve this privilege, the dealership had to show outstanding compliance in customer service, training, and dealership processes. More changes were in store during 1999 when the Pontiac and Buick franchises were purchased from another local dealership.

In 2000, expansion continued with construction of a new 11,000 square foot Body Shop - complete with new, state of the art equipment - on some newly purchased land located behind the dealership.  The old Body Shop building, which was the original Keller Auto Sales location, was demolished to make room for some more lot space since the acquisition of the Pontiac and Buick lines required more display area. Construction to the main building included a transformation of the front end into two separate showrooms—one for both GM and Chrysler.  Another 6,500 square feet was added to the rear of the main building to expand the service area and include a quick lube and oil change area.

Currently, Keller Motors holds the franchises for Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep. Following the death of Eugene Keller in 2005, oldest son Steve Keller continued the legacy and became President and Dealer Principal of the dealership.

Over the years, thousands of families in Perryville and the surrounding areas have purchased their cars, trucks, SUV’s and vans at Keller Motors. Each one has been backed with the continued commitment to customer satisfaction that began when Eugene Keller sold his first car in 1971. That same commitment still continues today.
